| HAPPY HALLOWEEN, everyone! We had a BLAST at our "Night of the Living Deadlift" event last night and raised lots of money & donations for a local school. This fantastic community brought in about 50 cans of food, loads of school supplies, and hundreds of dollars...and all of it goes straight to the children at Norman Binkley Elementary. From magical unicorns and 6-foot-4 Oompa Loompas to skeletons, the big bad wolf, day of the dead, and more....we had a great showing, fun times, and lifted lots and lots of weight! |
Funniest - Eric, the Oompa Loompa
Scariest - CJ, the Big Bad Wolf
Most Artistic - Shawna & Kyle, Day of the Dead
...and of course, big congrats to some of our heavy lifters for the night: Holly Jones hit 1.8x her bodyweight; Missy Sapp hit 1.81x her bodyweight; and Manda Patrick won the event by lifting 2.1x bodyweight....yeah, that's a 300# deadlift from a lady who weighs less than 150#.
For the men, Paul Lucht from Combustion CrossFit showed up strong with the heaviest lift of the night at 505#! Jeremy Faircloth hit 1.99x his bodyweight; Alexie Smith hit a 20# personal record by lifting 2.03x his bodyweight (almost 400#); and Kyle Hopkins from Fixinto CrossFit won the event by lifting 2.35x bodyweight...so an impressive 500# deadlift while stepping on the scale at 212.5#.
